Diamond Diesel Service, Inc. will only sell and recommend Performance Products which comply with the Original Equipment Manufacturer's (O.E.M) Standards. There are many so called "Performance Products" on the market that improve performance by altering the amount of fuel and air to the engine which have the potential of damaging your engine or Fuel Injection System. We do not recommend these products.  We do recommend specific Performance Products because these products either improve engine performance without altering the Fuel Injection System or monitor the Engine to insure that the Diesel Fuel Injection System is operating correctly.

1) Diamond Diesel is an Authorized Service Dealer for the Fuel Injection System on your vehicle and we can't and would not recommend anything that might void your warranty with the O.E.M. Providing service for Fuel Injection systems is what we have been doing for a living since 1965.  We represent manufacturers such as Bosch, Zexel, Stanadyne, Delphi who monitor our employee training and equipment to insure that we have the latest and greatest in Diesel Fuel Injection technology.

2) We are a member of the Association of Diesel Specialist (A.D.S.).  A.D.S. members are known throughout the industry for the high technical standards they maintain. Uniform repair standards, the Nationwide Warranty program, and the  A.D.S. Power Stroke Intake Kits
FORD POWER STROKE AIR INTAKE SYSTEMS

Several non-OEM air intake systems are available that improve the performance of your engine without voiding the Manufacturer Warranty.  They improve the engine performance because the air intake system replaces the more restrictive factory box and paper filters and lets your engine breathe better. The air intake system benefits are especially noticeable at higher elevations when the engine is starved for air. These systems require an up front investment to purchase them but because the filters are washable and re-useable, in theory, the investment will eventually pay for itself.

FORD POWERSTROKE EXHAUST SYSTEMS FOR TRUCKS AND EXCURSIONS

New 4" turbo down pipes are the standard for the 1999 to 2002 PowerStrokes.
Excursion exhaust kits are also available and in stock.
Designed to allow the turbo to respond quickly at the bottom end and reduce exhaust gas temperatures. With high exhaust temperatures that occur under load, the Exhaust Pipe Kit allows for higher flow once the engine is at higher rpm.

Four-inch Cat back systems are available for 1994 thru 2002 trucks.
The "Easy at home installation Kits" 1994 thru 1997 trucks have a flat turbo down pipe which reduces the turbo response. Our three-inch pipe is a tight fit but worth the labor. This is a dealer install option.

FORD POWERSTROKE EXHAUST BRAKES

Since diesel engines lack a throttle valve on the intake manifold there is no intake vacuum when the engine is not fueling.  The intake vacuum creates the slowing effect felt in gasoline engines when they are going down a hill with the foot off of the gas, otherwise known as slowing using engine compression.

Exhaust brakes operate by closing off the exhaust path from the engine, causing the exhaust gasses to be compressed in the exhaust manifold and in the cylinder.  Since the exhaust is being compressed and there is no fuel being applied the backpressure provides the retarding horsepower to slow down the vehicle on even the steepest descents or just slowing down for a highway off ramp.   Exhaust brakes can extend the life of your service brakes by as much as 5 times.  More advanced exhaust brakes have exhaust pressure modulation (EPM) that controls the back pressure which in turn improves the braking performance across a range of engine speeds. 

FORD V8 7.3 AND 6.0 POWERSTROKE EXHAUST BRAKES

The Turbo Mounted Vacuum actuated and air actuated Exhaust Brake, (compression retarder) are available for all the Ford V8 7.3 and 6.0 Power Stroke diesels. This Exhaust Brake simply replaces the stock rear portion of the waste gated turbine housing or as in the 6.0 it mounts down in the exhaust system. The castings incorporates an exclusive AlumiBronze bushing and piston ring sealed butterfly shaft that have proven to stand up to the exhaust emission environment. The brake also incorporates exclusive Variable Orifice technology, where the spring loaded piston in the powerful 3" vacuum cylinder or the air cylinder is compressed by the off set stainless steel butterfly once the peak retarding pressure is achieved. This Variable Orifice exhaust brakes provide superior performance that starts at 1200 rpm with peak retarding hp achieved by 1800 rpm and then it just holds on right through the rpm range! The kit includes, a complete wiring harness, vacuum/air hoses and for the 99-01 models a heavy-duty vacuum pump and bracket to bolt in place of the stock vacuum pump. The complete kit can be installed in 3-4 hours with no cutting or welding required. On the current models we include air compressors with all the mounting hardware. The new 6.0 Power Stroke brake kit leads the industry with the new electronic control kit that communicates with the Variable Geometry Turbo and the Exhaust Gas Recirculating valve.

MONITORING DEVICES AND ACCESSORIES

FORD POWER STROKE TEMPERATURE/EXHAUST & TURBO BOOST MONITOR

What good is all this new power if you can’t monitor it? Enter the X Monitor. Its readout mounts inside a nice module that is positioned on the driver’s side A-pillar. Seen are all three functions at the same time: transmission temperature, exhaust temperature and turbo boost pressure. All three have limits, and these numbers are downloaded into the X Monitor. When any are met or exceeded, the monitor face flashes a warning that can’t be missed.

Benefits of installing the XMonitor:

  • Operating pressures & temperatures can easily be read with a simple glance.
  • The display brightness can be set for driver comfort.
  • The peak operating levels can be set to flash warning for safety.
  • The low mount does not restrict vision.
Peak levels are saved in memory and can be viewed after a run. The exhaust temperatures are monitored with a Pyrometer probe inserted in the exhaust flow. The probe can be mounted before or after the turbocharger. If mounted after the turbo the temperatures will vary from 300 F to 1000 F. If mounted before the turbo temperatures of 300 F to 1200 F will be normal working levels. Select the temperatures that should not be exceeded and the numbers will flash when it is attained. It is hard to have too much turbocharger boost pressure but if you have too little under a hard pull the result can be high operating temperatures. Transmission oil temperatures will reflect how hard you are working the transmission. The oil begins to break down quickly once it reaches 270 F. Higher temperatures cause transmission life to shorten, set the limit at the 250 F and increase the operating life. We can also monitor the fuel transfer pump pressure on the ISB electronic engines. Traditional round Analog gauges and mounts are also available; please scroll the page down to view them. Stay on top of what is happening in your engine with the proper gauges from Diamond Diesel! The Pyrometer monitors exhaust temperatures. The Turbo Boost gauge keeps track of a turbo pressures. A Back Pressure gauge monitors exhaust brake performance. An Oil Temperature gauge will insure that you are aware of how well your transmission is functioning. A variety of mounts are available.
FORD POWER STROKE GAUGES & HOLDERS

The new line of Isspro analog gauges have a nice rounded face with good back ground lighting. You can easily monitor exhaust temperature, boost pressure and transmission temperature. Pillar mounts that hold 1 or 3 gauges are available and can be painted to match the brown dash color.
